    Description

This A vintage and retired, Signed Cybis Sculpture. It is titled "Raccon Raffles" and features an adorable baby raccoon, enjoying a lovely snack of wild berries. Raccoon Raffles is a collectors favorite. It was introduced in 1965 and Cybis chose his name "Because he is such and Engaging thief" (shades of Dvid Niven) This is a larger piece measuring 7 1/2"tall. He was designed by Lynn Klockner Brown and is one of her earlies designs for Cybis. This piece is hand painted in High color and is slightly glossy. Most of the pieces you will find are very light in color and in a matte bisque finish. Also the cherries in this one is highly decorated and varies in color making them look truly real. These versions are often revered to as artists proofs and are more valuable than the lighter colored pieces which do not take as much time to hand paint. This piece is hand signed as you can see in the photos. The berry that he is holding in his hand appeared to have a stem (it is extremely hard to see) other than that it is perfect.
